Cd rom driver problem on passport

Hey everyone,

Tried to plug in my passport into my laptop today and it wouldn’t open up. I troubleshooted and said there may be a problem with the CD ROM DRIVER. As I tried to install it it then failed and I’ve googled and googled and can’t find any solution.

Anyone out there who can give me a hand?

Did you tried connecting the passport to another PC, or using another USB cable? Also check on the disk management to see if it is recognized there.

i have an unnecessary drive called WDunlocker(I:) listed as a CDrom apart frommy main drive J…can i just erase it without causing problems to J:…this in a mypassport externaldrive on an XP system
