Caviar HDD in USB drive docking station

#1

I recent had a Caviar Black  1TB (WD1002FAEX) drive come up with “SMART” issues this past Dec 2010.  I replaced the drive,  RMAed it and have received the replacement drive.   During the time the drive was “in transit,” I was trying to ensure that my other drives were working fine.  I looked into using external USB SATA drive docking station as a method of copying data and testing hard drives.

Which make / model of drive docking station would possibly work with Windows Data LifeGuard Diagnostic software?

Maybe you should try contacting WD’s Technical Support about this. You can do so either by phone or email.

Hello,

I don’t think WD has posted a list of specific USB docking stations compatible with the WDL, therefore is better if you can an updated answer from them. That is the reason why I suggest you to contact WD directly.
