Technical Support is not going to be posting here.  This is a user to user forum.  In order for this to be looked into by WD’s support group, you will need to contact Technical Support.  You can do so either by phone or email.

Update: I wrote a little while ago I had two greens, one EADS and one EARS with only the EADS exhibiting the noise. Well now you can throw the EARS into the mix as well. Same exact behavior as happened with my EADS. I have concluded that the Greens are just very poorly engineered drives. I bought a Black to replace my EADS and it’s been working great.

Although I have to state that  I’m pretty discouraged by WD’s practice with these color-code drives. They produce the Greens with all sorts of issues and at a low price with a short warranty so that people who don’t know any better will pay less and use the drives until they die and/or become problematic (like this thread’s issue) and not knowing the reasons will just keep buying replacements. Then the more knowledgable customers are essentially coerced into buying the high-end drives in the hopes they don’t exhibit the same problems.

I’m thinking maybe there needs to be some real competition for WD, I don’t like the lack of alternatives in this situation.
