Caviar Blue Fail Out of Warranty Service?

Im just curious if repair was avalable for drives. I have a 2009 model WD6400AAKS I got I can’t remember when. Its been very reliable as a secondary back up, but recently took a poo. Can  these be repaired through WD or pretty much buy a new drive.

Thanks

Hi for you to send the drive in for repair and data recovery it would cost more than a new drive. WD does not do data recovery or repair but they have associated partners that do it. You can check here for there company names.  http://support.wd.com/warranty/index_end.asp?lang=en
