Caviar Black - credit note on defective hdd


I want to return a WD 1 TB caviar black hard disk after 1 year as it has crashed and I have been told I would not get a replacement - but only 75% credit note.

I dont understand how this makes sense as I have to deal with all the data loss and pay 25% for a faulty product.

Maybe you should try contacting WD’s Technical Support about this. You can do so either by phone or email.

I have tried contacting them and they have promised a resolution.  The distributor here in Dubai has offered USD70.00 for the drive.   I am not happy about this.  

I just need a replacement  - hopefully it will be resolved in a day or two.
