Caviar Black 1T drive failing

My Win7 x64 OS drive is clicking very loudly after a year of ownership and only used on weekends.  I have ordered a new drive to replace it.  I bought the drive through PC Connection which will only accept DOA or 30 day failures,  isn’t the WD mfg warranty longer?
