"Capacity Usage" requires "Cloud Service" after firmware update -- WHY?!?

I just upgrade my EX4 to fw 1.05.21.

Prior to the upgrade I could click on the “>” on the “Capacity” icon in the Home tab in the dashboard and I could see the breakdown of usage by type.

After the upgrade I get:  "Please enable Cloud Service in the General category of Settings menu to view current usage of your system capacity.

I DO NOT want to enable the cloud service.  How can I get back into the capacity usage breakdown?

And why on Earth would WD have made that change?

you are in the mycloud forum, not the EX4

First, you’re in the wrong forum.

The forum for the EX4 is here;   http://community.wd.com/t5/WD-My-Cloud-EX4/bd-p/mycloud_ex4

You can’t.

Possibly because numerous users requested it.  The forum is replete with such requests to not do content indexing if Cloud Service isn’t being used.   Looks like WD honored the request.

Reminds me of the old saying: every action has an equal and opposite criticism.

A tick box - sorry - an On/Off switch for Run Capacity Breakdown Services might have been a better option than just enabled/disabled with the cloud services.

Personally I’m happy with those services being disabled with cloud services. But the OP might want to put a suggestion up here about making them optional in the interface:

OK. I stand corrected.

It’s not the way I would have dine it, but majority rules, I guess.
