Just purchased a 750Gb My Book Ess & can not update firmware / software . I have a Dell Optiplex GX 620 , XP Pro , Windows firewall & AVG free antivirus . Present software ver 1.2.0.8 & when I try to download software my PC goes crazy & screen flashes & multi Internet Explorer pages try to open & mem runs @ 100% & have to push PC power button to restart PC . I was able to down load software on my other PC no problems & transfrered to the Dell ,switched off antivirus & tried to unzip firmware & same thing happened . What am I doing wrong ?
