Can't update - Different P/N Stick-Menu

Hi all,

I’m having trouble trying to update my WDTV Live Plus (?). I got the P/N in the label of the device and downloaded the newest firmware avaliable. Unzipped the files in usb store and tried to update but the icon doesnt show in menu. Then i realized that the Part Number in setting > about was different from label in device.

In the setting P/N is: WDAAN0000NBK and the label is WDBABX0000NBK. I already tried to update using the firmware from WDAAN0000NBK , but didn’t work as well.

There is no way to change it for a new one, because i didnt buy in my country and i don’t have the invoice.

I don’t know what to do anymore, any help will be appreciated.

Well, there’s nothing you can do, then…

It would appear that someone stole a Live+ by purchasing a Live+, swapping the labels with their old LIVE (Non-Plus), then put the Non-Plus back in the Plus box and returned it for a refund.

But, if that’s the case, then the LIVE firmware  (xxx_V) should work.

What version is CURRENTLY on the device?  (SETUP / ABOUT will tell you…)
