Can't test 314GB PiDrive with Data LifeGuard Diagnostics

My 314GB PiDrive stopped working after I installed several Linux distros. I shut down my Raspberry Pi and connected the drive to my Windows 7 PC via a USB 3.0 hub. I was unable to run WD Data LifeGuard on the drive, even after installing the latest version.

Even when I reformatted the drive as NTFS and assigned it a drive letter using Windows Disk Management, WD Data LifeGuard sees the drive letter, but does not detect the physical drive. It detects all other USB and SATA drives connected, even those from Samsung or Seagate. Any suggestions?

Hello Mark,

Sorry you are having trouble with the WD Data LifeGuard software. I just tried it on a 314GB PiDrive and it works on my Windows PC. Would you please download the latest copy from this link and try it again?

If that still doesn’t work, I’ll arrange to ship a replacement drive to you.

Thanks!
