Can't seem to access and view information

Hello, new to forum. 

I viewed a few topics of similar nature, but have yet to find an answer.  I wiped my computer’s hard drive clean and reinstalled windows.  It wasn’t my choice, it was corrupted (long story).  I have about 55 gigs of data (photos, music, other files) on my WD Passport, yet can’t seem to copy them back on to my computer.  The WD creates a file labeled ‘_Copy of WD Sync 01-02-2010’, yet it is empty. 

This is the first time I’ve had to access saved info on the drive, and just can’t seem to get that info back onto my C Drive. 

Any help from ‘seasoned veterans’ would be greatly appreciated.
