Can't see My Book Live on my home network

I have connected my My Book Live onto the network via an ethernet cable from my Virgin Media Cable Modem but when I run the Setup it says my device can’t be found yet all my cables are connected correctly

I tried pinging but no joy

Any idea’s what might be wrong


You can try using the WDlink app to find it on your network. Also check page 11 of the manual for the steps to correctly connect the My Book Live. 



What model modem do you have? How many ports are on the modem?

Where did you get the IP address of

Do you have any other network devices plugged into the cable modem?
