Can't reinstall Transmission on DL2100

After a data migration from an older EX2 to DL2100, something got broken and transmission is not showing up among the installed apps. I tried to reinstall it but I get the following error: “Failed to install app. Please check the network connection and try again.”
Network connection is working fine and other apps install without issues. It seems there are some remains from previous installation causing troubles.
Can someone help me to solve this issue?
Thanks!
Matías.

Hello Matías,

Can you please try performing a system only reset and then try to install the app again.

Thanks for your reply,

I tried with the system only reset, but when I try to install Transmission I get the same error. I tried to install other apps and they worked fine.

Is there any link to download and install manually?

Thanks,

Matías.

Thanks,

but i meant the .bin file to try with a manual install from the GUI.

Or if there are instructions for a manual install / uninstall by SSH without voiding the warranty…

This isn’t a firmware issue, it’s old instance needs clearing manually, Matukayak let me know if you need assistance and I’ll help you with this.

Thanks Phil,

I will appreciate your help to remove this old instance to be able to install it again properly.

           Best regards,

                          Matías.

Ok first make sure SSH is enabled under Settings > Network, choose a password for SSH access to your NAS.
Secondly download and install WinSCP from here : Downloading winscp576setup.exe :: WinSCP

You then need to connect to your NAS via WinSCP, choose SFTP under file protocol, host name is the IP of your NAS, “root” as the username, and “yoursshpassword” under password.

Once connected go up two folders (right window), you’ll see a folder called mnt (this is where your drives are mounted, along with apps and config settings). Go to the HD folder > HD_a2 > Nas_Prog folder. In the Nas_Prog folder you should see the old Transmission instance folder, right click and delete the entire Transmission folder.

Now go back to the Web GUI and attempt to install Transmission again from the app list, it should install with no issues.

Thanks Phil! I followed your steps and problem was immediately solved!

No problem, the only other alternative would have been to wipe the storage completely, but who wants to do that ;).
