Cant Reformat

i have an old WD elements 1tb that is ou tof warrenty the thing is that it  has come up in disck managment as unalocated and i cant initilize the disc because it says it has been write protected. I have done so many things to get it to work. hellp me pls

You could try the Minitool partion,this may solve your problem,you can get it at  http://www.partionwizard.com/free-partion-manager

i’ve never encounted this type of error … but doing a gOOgle search, have you tried these ?
