Cant play videos or connect to internet after Update 1.05.04

Hi!

Its my first time on the forum and i want to know if anyone can help me with my problem

Ive been using my WD by a year now for playing my movies and series and it have been doing it without any trouble i havent used any Costum FW and updating it when it detects it have an update, but recently i updated my WDTV live to firmware  1.05.04_V and theres where all my problems began. After updating it first of all, the internet died, no mor internet conection even trying on manual setup, no more blinking orange light on backward, etc.  i tried with different modem  ( router? ) and still nothing but not everything ends there, after updating i tried playing a movie (.mp4) and it played lagging, it took ages to load and after 10 min the media player died and i had to unplugged it and connect it again, after i load it i just cant play any more files, its doesnt even try lo load files it automatic sends me the “Unable to play the selected file” i tried with files it used to play without ANY PROBLEM i wont show any pictures and no mp3 playback

All of this worked perfectly before update i already tried doing backward FW, hard reset, soft reset, unnplugit, yellling at it and still nothing works :frowning: im afraid update killed my WD tv Live because everything used to work beutiful before updating it…

PD: Sorry for the english, spanish is my native so i have some trouble explaning

hi, im sorry to hear that, i would recommend you restore the unit back to factory default if this does not work i would try this

1- Rollback

2-Restore back to factory default

3-Update the Firmware manually from a memory stick

4-Do a restore back to factory default

5- Try again

The rollback link above does not work.

Download firmware from the link below and follow the instructions

My bad, didnt test it, but thanks

hi, thanks for the reply but i already did all of those things and nothing works… :frowning:

If the rollback didn’t fix the issue, then the problem isn’t likely to be the firmware… something else isn’t working right.

Now i have another problem / symptom… i tried rollbacking as far as 1.02.21_V i think it is and now it just keep restarting i cant do anything, not even hard reset… i think im making progression or… its finally dead :S
