I have a !TB elements. Drive was empty. I attached it to a laptop running window 8.1. The drive had been previously formatted as exFat. When I now connect it to the laptop it is recognised as local driver D and when I click on it to open it, the laptop then searches this pc and then comes up this pc not responding. I have tried it on a number of other pc and get the same. While that drive is connected nothing else will run. Any suggestions?
I have also run the WD lifeguard which detects the drive. Smart failed. I cannot highlight the drive as it just spins and does not respond. The drive lights just blinks
