Can't keep MyCloud connected to my LAN-want to copy off files

Cannot keep MyCloud drive connected to my LAN. I see the IP address via my router, but can’t access it via a browser. Grinds and grinds. I upgraded to OS5 after all the dire messages from WD and now wish I hadn’t.
Finally had a moment in time that I briefly saw my dashboard (OS3).One of those brief moments it stayed connected. Started the Indexing yesterday and it is taking forever (I have only 1.3TB of data on there).
All I want to do is just connect a drive via the USB port and copy off the data to a hard drive, but can’t even get that working. Anyone have any better advice than I what I hear from Support? I need some real answers, not yet another link to a knowledgebase document that doesn’t apply or even work,
BTW: I am on MacOS Big Sur. Have access to other machines at home (all Mac) that are not at that OS.

If you updated your device to OS5 then you no longer have OS3.

Finally solved my problem myself.
Took the NAS drive out of the case and removed the attached circuit board. Took it to a local computer repair show that had a Linux (EXT4) drive. Had the data from the unresponsive My Cloud NAS drive transferred to an extFS portable hard drive (a Backup Plus). Cost me $170 but I have all my data now.
