Can't Access Share

I created a new share. From my network I can’t seem to access that share. I can access the public share fine and map it to a network drive.  When I try to access the new share it asks me for a user name and password. I enter that. I get an error that says…Multiple connections to a server or shared resource by the same user, using more than one user name, are not allowed. I am using XP.

Thanks,

Jim

That’s a limitation of Windows.   You cannot log into the same NAS using two different sets of credentials.

There’s two ways around this.

1)

DELETE The first connection using the command “net use * /delete” from a CMD window.

Then Connect to the PRIVATE share FIRST, *then* the PUBLIC Share.

  1.  Map the Public share as a drive letter using the MBL’s NAME.

Map the PRIVATE share as a different drive letter using the MBL’s IP ADDRESS.
