Have changed motherboard on laptop due to Power problem. Now BIOS can see HDD but Operating system will not start. Can this be a HDD driver problem? HDD is WDC WD500LPUT-22G33T0
Did you check the compatibility of WD drive with your new motherboard? Also if you have other computer system, you can try to connect this hard drive to check whether the issue is due to hard drive or driver or motherboard.

Thanks for your reply. Replacement Motherboard is exactly the same as original Motherboard so assumed there would be no issues. Have ordered USB HDD enclosure to plug it into another pc. Will let you know result as soon as it arrives.

Tried HDD in usb enclosure and I can see all the files but cannot access them.
