Can't access files after transferring to my new computer

I recently bought a WD 5TB Passport. I backed up my old PC onto it (about 600 gigs). I then transferred the files/folders ect to my new computer. The problem I get is when I try to open some of the folders I get a message saying I’m not authorized to open the folder or file. I also get this message:

“…cannot access the file. The file might be in use, you might not have access to the computer where the file is stored, or your proxy settings might not be correct.”

None of the files are in use, I just can’t open them. Please help.
