Cant access backup made last week before reimaging laptop

I backed up my laptop to a new My Book 8Tb last Tuesday using WD Backup, then sent the laptop for re-imaging. Got the laptop back today, connected the Book to the PC, but WD Backup can’t see last week’s backup file. The message said “need to set up a backup schedule” so I did, and now there are two backups on the WD - one from last week and the tiny new one from today. I can see both when I explore the device, but WD Backup cannot. What to I need to do to get WD Backup to find and restore the archive?
About a year’s worth of work stuck there … tough to recreate from emails. Possible, but not fun.
