My WD Passport drive started opening up without the password. I opened the WD Security app to reset the password capability and it does not detect any of the Passport drives I plug in. The software version is 1.4.3.13, which is old.
I downloaded the zip file for the new WD Security version 2.0.0.76, but I am unable to unzip the drive and get to the .exe file. When I try to extract the file, only the manifest.json file extracts. when I tried clicking on the .exe file within the zip file, I got a “cannot execute” message. See attached screenshot.
I downloaded prior versions 2.0.0.71 and 2.0.0.48 and got the same error on both.
I used my zip utiliy to open other zip files, and it works fine, so the problem appears to the the WD Security zip file itself.
Is this a known issue with a fix?
