Cannot see any folder shares on iMac running Snow Leopard 10.6.8

This WDTVLIVE unit has firmware 1.09.10. My iMac is running 10.6.8 I can only see Windows and Linux options on the WDTVLIVE network share section. Selecting either of these options yields no connection. I can see Vuze on the Mac in the media server section and I can stream the media it contains after transcoding. Sharing is wide open on my Mac with SMB enabled and no logins, security or passwords. All folders have full access and I see and access them from a laptop running windows 7. I have tried resetting and power cycling the unit with no results. I have also checked out these links and followed the instructions with no success: http://wdc.custhelp.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/3788 http://wdc.custhelp.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/6614 http://wdc.custhelp.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/8538 Any help would be great. Cheers

Posted 24 hours ago… BUMP!  are there any WD moderators with any Mac 10.6.8 knowledge here?

This is a forum for users, moderators will not provide technical support.  If no one has replied, and you still have the issue, you may contact WD Support directly:  http://support.wdc.com/contact/index.asp?wdc_lang=en

I suppose I will do just that then… Or maybe return this unit. All a bit too difficult really. But thanks for enlightening me on the etiquette of this forum. Cheers!

WD support fixed my issue with this email:

You are lucky that you have received a reply from WD. However WDTV Live Hub is not compatible with iMac running OSX10.8.1. Your best bet is running yazoft’s playback but even that is not 100% reliable. I have read so many posts on this and tried all suggestions. The message that keeps coming up after inputting your administrator’s username and password is that the device is not active and that you need to ensure it is active. Not sure what WD means with that as my iMac is active, all sharing settings are in order but it simply does not stream the iMac. The WDTV Live Hub is mounting on my iMac and is accessible but on the Hub itseldf it is not streaming my iMac. Sofar no expert from WD has been able to give me an actual and factual fix. So If you have an iMac running the above OSX tha WD will not work in regards to streaming.

I forgot to mention that you should not RESET your WD TV Hub as that will mess everything up. At least it did with my Hub.
