I use Macrium Reflect for backups. For a full image restore, it uses a boot from USB or CDROM with a WinPE environment. I store my backups on WD Passport drives.
I just discovered that Unlock.exe will not run under WinPE. That means there is no way to open the hardware locked WD drive to do a restore. Here is the message I get:
H:>wddr#~m4.exe
This version of H:\WD Drive Unlock.exe is not compatible with the version of Windows you’re running. Check your computer’s system information and then contact the software publisher.
wddr#~m4.exe is the 8.3 DOS name for WD Unlock.exe.
Is there a version of Unlock that will run under WinPE?
