Cannot map a share with DNS name of WE Sharespace only works via IP

Hi,

I’m unalble to map to the NAS using its DNS name.  For example, [\MyNAS\public](file://%5C%5CMyNAS%5Cpublic) doesn’t work, but 192.168.2.15\public works - its registered in DNS and I can ping by name.  I don’t want to manually modify host files to get this to work.  Thanks in advance.

If you are using windows this is highly likely caused by the network configuration on the machine.  During initial configuration did you enable media sharing?  If not windows will turn off name services as it thinks you will not need them.
