Cannot access files via files.mycloud.com

Hello everyone,

I have re-connected my MyCloud after a few months of having it offline and I cannot login to files.mycloud.com by any means…

The unit seems to be working well, as I can access the dashboard with admin credentials and even access the files via the local network on my mac, but impossible to connect to the files if outside the network. With admin credentials, it says MyCloud is offline, which sounds strange, as it is connected to the router and showing the blue led. Connecting with any user set via the dashboard, it always says “incorrect password”, even if I’m sure I’m typing the correct one.

Also, via the dashboard, it states it is connected, cloud access is active, etc.

Before, I used to connect via the desktop app or the wd2go, but seems none of that exists anymore?

Is this a known issue? Any ideas?

First step is the access the My Cloud Dashboard and check the Settings page to see if it shows Remote Access/Cloud Access as connected. Sometimes one can fix remote access issues by turning off the Remote Access/Cloud Access setting, waiting a few minutes, then reenabling the Remote Access/Cloud Access setting and waiting for it to indicate a connection.

Second step is to check a User in the My Cloud Dashboard has Cloud Access permission. One’s login information for MyCloud.com is different/separate from the login information used to access the My Cloud Dashboard or access a Private Share on the local network.

Note that if one has a My Cloud running v2.x firmware then certain My Cloud models may have auto updated to OS5. OS5 uses a different site (My Cloud) for cloud access to the My Cloud and uses a different mobile app.

Do a 40 second reset. That should take care of the password problem. If it doesn’t fix the remote access problem, post back.

Does a 40 second reset wipe stored data off the drive?

No, it doesn’t. It just resets all the settings to factory default and leaves all data intact.

Thanks for that! I created a new topic in the forum as my device randomly stopped working over the weekend. I still have a blue status light and ethernet is connected too. But seems to keep disappearing from the network. I’ll try the reset, see if that fixes the issue long enough to transfer the data to a new device :slight_smile:

sorry to follo wp on an older post. I have Ex2 Ultra OS5. everything works file, admin can login, see all data are there. But cloud access login always bounce back to login page. It does briefly display the user dashboard, then go back to login page. Cloud access has been working before. Just 2 days ago, it stopped working. anyone has ideas. I’ve tried to reboot, hibernate, reset networking. using different web browers, different access PC, mobile device. all behave the same. Tried multiple user account too. Thank you.
