Can WD Smartware work on an Air-gapped network?

Can WD Smartware activate and function on a network that does not touch the internet?
I don’t want to purchase the pro version if it will not work.

Do you have SmartWare now? Do You have a WD My Cloud or other WD Device? If you have SmartWare have you opened it and read the Help information that is provided?

If you have it, open the Help tab>Backup>Upgrade to the WD SmartWare Pro software? and read the information provided.
