Can the WD Sentinel create a self issued/sel​f signed security certificat​e?

We already have a domain name and would rather not pay hundreds of dollars for an SSL certificate if we don’t have to - that is what our provider wants to charge us.  Could we create a self-issued/self-signed certificate and give that to the users that need to be able to access our network remotely?

They only need to access the common (shared) drives on the DX4000 - not the computer desktop.

You can run the connect to internet wizzard and get a free ssl cert from MS using a live login
