MyBook 2TB (WD20000H2Q - 00)
Will not mount on Mac Pro 2010 High Sierra 32GB RAM, plenty of HD space 4 internal drives).
If I restart in Safe Mode, the drive is fine (operation successful) and seems to mount just fine.
Could this be a drivers/software update issue?
Is there a way to go back to an earlier software version where my drive worked perfectly?
Any ideas? I do get it to mount sporatically.

I have been having similar problems with my 8TB My Book. WD support was no help. Eventual solution was to use the disk utility for Mac (found in utilities folder of your iMac). Click on Erase and choose to reformat as AFMS Case Sensitive (Apple File Management System) or maybe AFMS. The problem is if one then wants to use Time Machine, the drive is reformatted as read only. I used the partition utility to create 2 volumes, Time Machine, and Archive for example. Time Machine volume is then prepared to use with Time Machine. These now appear on desktop as Time Machine in green, and Archive in orange. The Archive folder can then be used to save files.
