Can Only Access Public Files

I followed directions to remove email address from MyCloudEX2 device. Now I can no longer access any folders on the device except the Public folder files. My File Manager keeps asking for a password. Apparently I don’t know it and now I can’t get back into the MyCloud app to reset any passwords. I am clueless and I am not a computer geek. If we were supposed to make all folders public BEFORE wiping out remote access, then why wasn’t that in the instructions? Is there any way to regain access to all folders that are not public? I really need help.
