Can my files be recovered

Hello,

I used a ‘Connect land’ (Syba) dual docking station to transfer files from my desktop hard drive to my WD my book external drive(which i removed from the casing).

I am now seeing and have access to the copied files but not the original files which was on the WD my book.

Did the docking station reformat the entire my book drive in order to copy the files from the other drive ?

can i somehow recover the original files that i had on the WD my book or are they forever gone?

Plese assist.

Thanks,

Rubble

Hello,

The My book drive has a AES 256 bit encryption. If you take the drive out of the enclosure the data on it will be encrypted and not readable by the computer.
