Can it be used for database storage of Microsot SQL Server

I am contemplating of buying a 4TB MyCloud device. I have a Windows 10 PC and has Microsoft SQL Server 2014. Can I use this drive to store my SQL database files?

Reading around, using a NAS to host a Microsoft SQL database seems to be considered asking for trouble (database corruption). NFS may just provide the required file locking capabilities, but SMB does not appear to.

It’s also worth noting that the MyCloud is really a consumer device, and running Microsoft SQL Server sounds more like a commercial activity (especially on a database large enough to require hosting on a NAS), so the basic MyCloud (the subject of this forum) may not be what you’re after. Not to mention the issue of performance.
