Can I use WD RMA packaging?

I recently applied for an advanced RMA and the package arrived today. The Drive was in a small cardboard box with plastic immovable packaging. My question is, would I be able to use this packaging to return my faulty drive even though the WD website does not mention plastic immovable packaging and only mention foam packaging?

Yes, you are able to use it as long as you ensure the ESD bag is in good shape and properly closed.

I’m using the ESD bag I received originally as it is slightly larger, is it fine to use tape to seal the bag?

Yes, as long as it is non-conductive tape or isolating tape.
