Can I use G-Drive Thunderbolt to watch movies on TV?

Hey guys! A 3TB G-Drive was passed down to me with a bunch of movies on it. Is there a special way I have to connect it to my (Samsung) tv in order to watch the movies? I tried connecting it normally via USB like I did with my other hard drives but it doesn’t detect it. I also tried connecting it to my PS4 but it shows no readable video files. Any ideas?

We don’t have any support for this functionality but it mostly depends on how the drive is formatted. Most TVs will support a drive formatted in FAT32/NTFS. All G-Tech drives out of the box are formatted for Mac so that wouldn’t be compatible unless it was already formatted with FAT32/NTFS Maybe exFAT. You would have to check with specs or help with the TV for that.
