is this ok to do - I have a 1TB my book MAC black / blue light which is powered independently as you know - I have now bought a my book world edition II white light - can i plug the original drive into the back of the world edition II - is this the best way to use both sotrage devices together (plus I want to copy a load of stuff off it as it seems slow from usb on router to ethernet connected MBWE II)

Yes, just plugin it into the USB port. It will be recognized (hope so ;)) and will be shown as an Share. Also you can copy with the copymanager from an to the USB Drive. It’s much more faster, if you dont have Gigabit.
