Can I delete files using a PS3?

Hi,

I’m using a PS3 to stream video from my NAS, and simply want to know if I can delete the files after I have watched them?

I have set up streaming to a file structure where I place things I haven’t seen in a single file and what I would like to do is either to move the files or delete them from the streaming folder after I watched them.

The PS3 currently gives me the option to copy, or get information on the files, so I am currently using my android app to delete the files after I have watched them and it would be useful if I could do it without a second device using only the PS3

Anybody know whether this is possible?

If it can be done with the files within the PS3 drive it should be able to do it from the Media Server as well.

Here’s an article that shows how to remove them but it seems to be talking about the internal drive on the unit.

You can try checking the user’s manual for the PS3 or going to their support website.

Edit:

Looks like is not able to remove the files from another drive via media server. It will only work with files that are in the internal drive on the PS3.
