Can Firmware be rolled back?

I believe my MBLD has encountered a problem with being regularly having an auto system restart or just needing to be manually retarted as it drops of the network and I believe is all due to having automatically upgarded the firmware to the latest available.  I have another link below where I am trying to transfer files between 2 MBLD but I am thinking a roll back may resolve the ORIGINAL issue and that is the restarts and loss of network access to the MBLD.

Hello,

Make sure that the drive is connected to the wall outlet and try resetting the drive manually using the reset button on the back of the unit.

I am not sure of the rollback answer. However, from the debrick guide, here is a link to a firmware file-

Download 7zip from  http://www.7-zip.org/download.html
Download SystemRescueCd from  http://www.sysresccd.org/Download

Download the debrick script from http://www.mediafire.com/download.php?sy3mf53i0vcy886

Download the latest MyBookLive DUO firmware from http://download.wdc.com/nas/ap2nc-024006-048-20121206.zip

Unzip ap2nc-024006-048-20121206.zip and you should end up with ap2nc-024006-048-20121206.deb

You could try pointing the “Update from file” function in the Dashboard>System>Updates at the .deb file. I don’t know how to determine which firmware you currently have, though. Scratch that. The version is stated on the Updates page. The updater may or may not accept this version, however. That would leave following the all-out Debrick procedure as your other option. In the end, it would get you running with the above firmware, and you could refuse the update which WILL be offered. That said, once I completed the Debrick and was fully up and running, I accepted the update and it is running correctly for me. Your mileage may vary.

famreeks,

At this moment Western Digital does not offer an official step-by-step procedure designed for the purpose of safely rolling back the firmware of the WD My Book Live Duo, however, Western Digital is always open to feedback and suggestions from the Ideas Section in this community.

On the other hand, the issue you are encountering is puzzling as the unit should not be automatically shutting down. Does it still happen if you swap the power adapters between your 2 WD My Book Live Duo units?
