Can Disk 1 on RAID 1 be a local copy only?

Hi,

Can Disk 1 (as opposed to Disk 0) of a RAID 1 setup be reachable only localy, and Disk 0 be avaible from the cloud?

You should try contacting WD’s Technical Support about this for live assistance and troubleshooting.

Not looking for troubleshoot anything, since I don’t have the product yet. I just want to know if the product can do this. I haven’t find anything on the product page.

Hello,

Thanks for update and quick reply, It’s work for me, Really helpful and thankful.

Raid1 = disk mirroring.

In Raid 1, Drives are DUPLICATES, and in all regards functions as a single drive.

If you want one drive available locally, and another from the cloud. . .you can do that if they are setup in JBOD configuraton (Just a Bunch Of Disks) - - -but of course in that case they are NOT mirrored.

In WD software; access is by “share”. A share can be all or part of a Disk. Each Share has individual access permissions. All shares will be available locally with correct credentials. Access to the cloud can be denied on a share-by-share basis.
