Bug: Music sequence "Normal" behaves like "Repeat All" when image file is present in network folder

Hello,

I searched the forum and found a few thumbnail-related bugs, but no description of this behavior. So I decided to open a new thread:

Affected versions

1.02.21

1.03.42 Beta

other versions were not tested

Bug description

Playback does not stop after the last audio file in a network folder has finished but starts again from the beginning, if one or more image files are present in the same folder. In this case, the setting “Music sequence: Normal” has no effect; instead the player behaves similar as if “Repeat All” was selected:

  • After the first loop, playback starts again with the first file.

  • After the second (unintended) loop, playback starts again with the second file.

  • Playback of second file to last file repeats until interrupted manually. The first file is never repeated again.

Detailed procedure to reproduce bug

  1. Put a few MP3 files and at least one image file (e.g. “test.jpg”) in a folder of a network share.

  2. Verify that “Settings → Music settings → Music sequence: Normal” is selected.

  3. Select “Music → Network shares → (Name of Share) → (Folder)” and start playing the first file. After the last file is finished, playback will not stop as expected. Instead, it starts again with the first file. After the second loop, playback will start again with the second file. The player then enters a continuous loop until interrupted.

Workaround

When all image files are removed from the folder (e.g. deleted or moved to a subfolder), everything works fine again.

Additional info

Note that this happens only when playing files from a network folder. Local media is not affected.

I also confirm this bug, except in my case the first file is always missed out after the first play. I also note that if you actually bring up the repeat icon it also misses the first file when repeating. As a lot of people will add a folder.jpg to their album folder this means that this behaviour will be quite common.
