BSOD DMA VIOLATION when using MyPassport Ultra USB-C

Have purchased a 5TB USBC mypassport ultra to use as a backup drive. I’m transferring over the stuff from my old usb-a 4tb wd mypassport but partway through the transfer I get a Blue screen with a DMA VIOLATION.
