Broken USB3 Port

I have a 1TB MyBook with USB3 but unfortunately the drive’s piece where the USB3 cable gets inserted fell off and I’m unable to reattach it to the drive.

Is this something I can fix myself (considering I believe my warranty is over)? or should I send it to some WD’s Repair Center?

Thanks,

MV

Well you’ve got some options. You can try this  https://wdc.custhelp.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/70/session/L3RpbWUvMTM5MDMyNjIwNS9zaWQvZVBrTU9YS2w%3D Or you can try finding a replacement on Ebay this migt help a bit  http://community.wd.com/t5/Off-Topic-Discussions/Bridge-Boards/td-p/353839 You can also try having the port soldered back on. Opening the drive voids the warranty.
