Both of my Mybook World Editions Power up when the ac cord is connected: by that I mean if the drives are powered down overnight, the mains lead is removed from the ac connection on the rear of he casing, then in the morning when I re-insert the ac lead, both of the drives power up without me touching the power on button on the front.

So effectively I dont have an ON/OFF button, just an off!

Is this normal?

Mine is a MWE II (white light) and it powers up for 30 seconds when the A/C power is applied and then powers down.  I have to push the power button to get it powered up and running normally.  This is how it’s designed to work, according to the manual.
