Blue WD passport stopped working

Hi!  I have a blue WD passport that stopped working.  When I plug it into my MBP, it doesn’t show up on the desktop.  I’m not sure what year it is, but I thought maybe the colour would help identify it.  It’s 300GB, and when I open Disk Utility, it is visable, but it says it cannot be repaired because of an error.  What should I do?  Is there anything I can do to recover the data on it?  I had saved a lot of photos on it that I really didn’t want to lose.  Thanks to anyone who can help me or offer advice!

It looks like the drive’s file system is corrupted. It is recommended that you reformat this drive.
