Blue led very very dim

I have had this 4tb WD Personal for about 3 years? give or take. I dont have sleep enabled since it never worked as advertised. Anyways the blue status light has grown old. Do you guys have the same thing going on with your units? Its hardly visible anymore. I back the unit up every few months .

do a forum search (magnifying glass icon upper right) if you haven’t already. There are a number of people who have reported the front LED has stopped working or has stopped showing blue.

MyCloud front indicator lights

Pob wasting my time here. I have a 3TB MyCloud (Part No:WDBCTL0030HWT - NESN) which has performed flawlessly for 3 years…and still does. Current prob. is that the front panel light is completely dead. The answ. from WD was, of course, my unit is out of warranty and they don’t supply parts like the indicator bulbs. Thanks in advance for your advice.

Blue LED light not showing on WD cloud

The 2TB box appears to be working ok except the blue LED light on the front is not working at all, there is no light whatsoever. Can anybody suggest why this might be the case please? Thanks

Same here. Oddly, the LED does illuminate when the drive is doing something unusual, like starting up. But then it turns off completely in normal operation.

If the front LED on the single bay/single drive My Cloud (not My Cloud Home) has gone bad or burned out then see post #2 above which has links to other discussions on ways to change the LED color. The blue portion of the LED sometimes burns out. Fairly common compliant going back years.
