Hi,
May be you can check which is boot drive? And jumper setting?

if you’re adding another IDE drive that is not the Boot Drive then you need to change the jumper pin on the 500GB to Slave ie. done in most cases by simply removing the jumper.

seagate-jumber

what does that jumper do because nothing connects to it

i took the pin out of the jumper and i still get the same message

Boot into your PC’s BIOS setting and make sure you’re booting to the correct drive.

Most PC’s you press DEL while the computer is booting up to get into the BIOS.

(Some manufacturers use different keys for BIOS Booting eg. Esc, Delete, F1, F2, F10, F11, or F12 … it should say this at the booting/post black screen before the PC boots)

It will list the hard drive model numbers and which ones are Master and Slave.

It comes up but doesnt stay
