Block / Hide Update Notification?

I turned on my box last night and received the update notificaiton.  After recovering from the shock, luckily I came here before I did anything.

Seems like everyone is getting a long delay with playing .mkv files and that’s a deal breaker for me, so I don’t want to update.

Is the box going to ask me to update every time I turn it on?  Is there a way to prevent it from notifying me or prevent it from accepting an update (so that someone else doesn’t accidentaly upgrade)?

Thanks for the link.

I think I should be able to block my WDTV Live Plus box from having TCP access to 129.253.55.56 (support.wdc.com).
