Just got a 4T WD Elements external drive for Mac backup. When I’m done my day, I put Mac to sleep. The white power light stays on the drive and starts blinking on-off continuously. Is this normal?

Try plugging the power adapter to another outlet, directly to the wall. If the issue persists you may contact WD for troubleshooting.
