Blinking light no detection

My WD Mybook 2TB worked fine until this afternoon (bought it last february).

When I hooked it up today nothing was happening.

  1. Power cable attached and no USB cable attached, one flash of the light

  2. Attaching USB cable sets the drive going but I hear nothing inside but a beeping - brrrrrrrp, beep - and it will do this six times before stopping entirely. Throughout this the light flashes,

  3. Even if I pull the USB cable, after this point the light will not stop flashing. I have to pull the power lead to stop it.

I have tried attaching it to my pc and laptop but exactly the same occurs .

Hope somebody can help me

check if the drive appears on disk management

you could have a corrupted drive that needs to be formatted
