Hello, when I boot my PC and it begins the boot process it is interrupted by a lengthy series of binary code from my 8TB desktop external drive. If I remove the USB from the computer and reboot the normal Windows process begins. Any thoughts? I have recently updated the firmware using an auto-update.

It seems that there is a boot priority issue in your computer BIOS which is setup on the USB.I would recommend to change the boot priority of your computer to internal drive. You can also refer the link given below to know the solution for such issue.
