I would like to create a backup of my 6TB EX2 (3TB mirrored) to store off site, and would prefer to use a WD 3TB Red. Shold I buy a generic USB 3.0 enclosure and a 3TB HDD, or should I get something like a 3TB MyBook?

My Books come with green drives. So it is really up to you - whether you want a red drive, designed for NAS usage or a green drive designed for desktop usage. Because the backup function isn’t technically either. So it is up to you. If you are planning to keep the backup drive turned on 24x7, then I’d say go with a red drive, otherwise green should suffice but you can still use red if you want to.
